Re: stride foot

i have a 13 y.o. son who i started pitching batting practice to quite regularly when he was 10. at the time he was an average hitter who would occaisionally have a slump. being a father who knew next to nothing about baseball i found that we could get him back on track

Question: over the last year he's developed a style of striding slightly away from the plate on inside pitches and toward the plate on outside pitches. would he better off to always try to stride consistantly to the same spot? he'S actually improved with this style & seemed to be even more effective against the faster allstar pitching at the end of the last season.

Pete, Try to stride to the same spot every time. You don't have time to stride to where the ball is going.
