I feel that too much loop in the swing is from not getting to a balanced position with the stride. If I rotate without starting from a balanced position, I have a tendency to collapse the backside and have too much gradient in the swing. Good luck

I would guess that your shoulders are actually too level, which lets your head drift out front and makes you lunge and reach for the ball, which will cause a pop up almost every time on a pitch away and a jamb shot on a pitch in.
