After all, the hips rotate ahead of shoulder rotation and that requires the legs to be involved. I concentrate on driving the lead-hip back toward the catcher by extending the lead-leg while you think of driving the back-hip forward. Who is to say which is correct if they both result in the correct rotation of the shoulders. --- We should keep in mind that that neither extending the lead-leg nor popping the back-hip (from what ever source) has any influence on power and bat speed other that their contribution to shoulder rotation.
