No problem Ray. One of the reasons I don't leave a name is that anyone can put anyone else's name on a post. For example, I could put your name on a post which contains information that you do not agree with, and cause a lot of confusion. But I can see how you want to be clear on who you're posting with. So I will start using Mister X (I have already started making a few posts using "No Name", but I will stick with Mister X from now on)

As far as you examplequestion: I DID post the first one talking about hand strength and what we actually mean when we say "hands". I DID NOT post the second one. Like you, I do not know who is responsible for that. I, at first thought it was Doug, but I am not sure. And, I can't really agree or disagree with the post without knowing what "hand strength" is referring to. I do believe that forearm strength helps when you are fooled on a pitch.

When I first read your comment of "driving the top hand past the bottom hand" I thought it was clearly roll over. As my previous post stated, I thought of it from the pitcher's view. As the swing is launched, the hands flatten and the left hand is in front of the right hand (for a righty). If I were to drive my top hand past my bottom hand (right hand past the left), bottom hand would know be in front of the top hand and closer to the pitcher. That is clearly roll over.

But, I guess that is not what you mean. The only other thing I can think of that you would mean is this. That when you drive the top hand past the bottom, the hands end up paralell to each other. In other words, both are facing the pitcher and are the same distance from the pitcher. That is not a bad position, but I question how you get to that position. It comes naturally in the purely rotational swing. But if you are thinking push the top hand, I would have to believe that you are going to roll over unless your timing is perfect.

And these are the problems with cues. You have one idea of what the cue means, and it probably works for you. I have a different idea, and the same cue would cause serious problems in my swing. And without proper explaination, I believe many young players would end up having problems like I would have. This is where you explaination comes in to possible clear things up.
