setting up net in backyard?

Hi all,
My dad said it'd be alright if I setup a net in our background so I could work on my swing more. My question is do any of you have any advice? It seems like a rather simple task, but if you have any useful insight I'd be grateful. I'm thinking of just buying two big posts and finding some netting at a hardware store. Should work alright?
Oh and one last thing anyone know where you could possibly look to buy a used soft toss machine?
