Jack,

A common thread that I have found taught and used by girls is the linear approach to hitting. It is incorporated in all types of drills and philosophies of most coaches I have encountered. What have you seen as far as rotational hitting in relation to girls fastpitch softball?

____

UMPIRING in fastpitch is a JOKE. Most fastpitch games I watch the STRIKE ZONE is so expanded (at least 6 to 8 inches on the outside and at least 10 inches up). That's why fastpitch hitters are linear or slappers or punchers or draggers - because of the SCREWED UP strike zone.

BONDS would be a slapper in fastpitch and I guarantee you - he would not hit 20 Homeruns if he switched to fastpitch today and had to cover a 30 inch plate rather than a 17 inch.

The GAME is FLAWED- so mechanics DO NOT MATTER.
