"Falling Away" One of the kids on my 11-12 team looks to me to be one adjustment away from becoming a very good hitter. He is a well above-average athlete, and mechanics and every other part of his game (and other sports) are excellent...BUT, it seems that against faster pitchers, he is "falling away" as he swings and his arms appear to be up against his body. In other words, he's not getting his bat around and he's not giving himself the benefit of his natural strength and speed.
