Re: I cant pull the ball

Posted by: () on Sat Jun 7 12:05:16 2003

This may sound strange, but something is definetely wrong with my swing, I just cant peg what it is. I am hitting very well right now, batting .636, but whenever I try to pull the ball, I groung out weakly...I am a right handed batter, but I have all my power to right center. I am 5'10" and 230lbs swinging a 34" 28oz bat, so I dont think the bat is too heavy. Does anyone have any ideas??

Wood or metal bat? If it is wood, it is way too light and if it is metal, I have never heard of a -6 bat at the HS level. If you are grounding out on balls on the middl;e half of the plate that you should pull with athority, you most likely are not leading with and clearing your hips. It will cause a roll over and many ground balls.
