My version of short swing

It seems to me that a short swing is one that concentrates on an efficient bat launch. If the hands are cocked, the front shoulder set, the front heel off the ground and the weight back into a slightly coiled hip you will have a short , compact swing. All one has to do is push the bat in and up in time with the pitcher, recognize the pitch and drop the heel pulling the knob into the zone. The front leg straightening firing the hips open generates the quick, short, bat acceleration. As Teacherman says it is about shortening the time between "I see it, and I just hit it" and that is about activating the correct muscle groups during bat launch.
