Re: Right Video for Youth Instruction

So which of Jack's video's would be best for youth instruction and drills. I'm coaching youth's in the 8-10 range.

Hi G.

I believe he came out with a new DVD. Also, in order to enhance lower body mechanics, check out Mike Epstein's videotape. He claims it is appropriate for ages 11 and up, but there are instances where people younger than 8 grasp rotational mechanics successfully.

Whatever you do, STAY AWAY FROM TEACHING LINEAR MECHANICS. I cannot force you to teach rotational mechanics, as I respect your will do as you please as a free-thinking individual, but I highly recommend them.

I have a tremendous respect for both Jack and Epstein, ascertained through drilling them about why things are correct, and checking their theories for myself. When teaching math, for example, every skill must build on another (i.e., agglutinative). Why now start now, and feel happy about the "success stories" later?

They will also love you if they become successful statistically.

But, basically speaking, they will all respect you for what you did.

My sincere respect,
BHL
