Where are the hands and the position of the bat at footplant with most of the great hitters? Just spent a couple of hours checking out some of the greats and it is interesting, because even though they have different styles, they are all very similar at footplant.

At footplant, the hands of the real good hitters are back towards the catcher and at armpit level or a tad lower. The bat is pointed up and one had a 2" to 6" wrap. This goes for Williams, Mantle, F. Robinson, McCovey, Rose, Kaline, Killebrew and many other greats. None of them have their hands above the armpits and all of them have the bat back where the bottom arm is within a few inches of being straight. The only one of this group that had any wrap at all was F. Robinson. Rose was a singles hitter, but his position at footplant was the same as the power guys.
