Re: Re: Batspeed components

In Jack's instructional DVD he states that the circular hand path contributes to 40-50% of batspeed. Are THT and BHT the only other components to batspeed, and if so what percentage contribution to batspeed would be attributed to each?

The hip and shoulder rotation create the circular hand path thru the arm connection hence the 50% of the bat speed. 25% is created by the top hand pulling the bat head back toward the catcher and the other 25% is created as the lead knee straightens and the lead shoulder pulls and the upper torso tilts back all at the exact moment to cause the the knob of the bat to be pulled back toward the catcher. that is the final energy expended in the swing which causes the 25% increase in batspeed.
