Resistance against rotation slows down rotation and the slower you rotate the slower you swing.

hello dave!!
very well said.. however, as the resident "idiot" & generally aggravating nuisance on this site who rails against the conventional wisdom exhibited by far too many guys who would have you believe things that have absolutely no LOGICAL basis in fact..i can say without fear of rebuttal that you are banging your head against the wall if you think you are going to get a straight concise intelligent knwledgeable answer from half the guys on this site.. very few of them have any concept of LOGIC or PHYSICS.. they are spewing half baked ideas about motions & angles & tilting & such ridiculous mid-swing alterations... as though these arguments & discussion about the most infinitessimal minute actions in the middle of the swing are going to send them directly to MLB...not.
warning: this site is infested with an overwhelmingly large majority of people who endorse beerbelly ball (16" softball)swings, with a too-wide, too-open stance utilizing a hands & arms windup & implementing a swing which is all arms & shoulders with virtually no concern with lower body torque.. also there are FAR too many including the founder of this site who cannot admit the stance has any influence on success rate.. which of course you know to be true.. they are all pretty much focused on the actions a hitter implements BEGINNING WITH THE LIFTING OF THE FRONT FOOT..nothing else before that matters much to them.. they maintain it does not matter where or how you stand, you will pretty much hit at the same success rate regardless... but of course you know that is simply not so...
best of luck trying to make some sense of some of the incoherent responses you will receive... enough to drive you up the wall.
