flipping the bat

I am new to this stuff so bear with me. My daughter is 12 and just started playing select softball. I have noticed all the hitters except my daughter and one other girl warm up and swing by extending the arms and throwing the hands out then the bat flips up and bumps their back. Most of these girls have the same batting coach and that is what they are being taught. So should I start my daughter on that road too? She hits the ball much harder than most using a more traditional swing. I like this site, it seems to reinforce what I have been taught, just wondering if I've been missing something.

Thanks
