HI

I can tell you that in theory that it should work HOWEVER swinging a heavier bat can also create mechanical changes in a swing if the bat is too heavy for the individual. I would suggest that a bat ring is too heavy of an object to use. I would look at either finding a bat that is one to two ounces heavier or using lead tape on your bat to increase the wieght would also work.

Hi

Very good point on the fast twitch fibers. As you noticed I said in the overload training to only increase by one or two ounces not a hitting ring. I love the underload training technique also and your combination is a great way to train both sets of muscles to fire. I usually try an alternate training days between over and under load training to focus each day on a particular fiber type. I see that your idea may have a lot of merit and I will experiment with this over the winter with some of my kids.
