Re: scap load vs.inward turn

Posted by: Doug () on Sat Sep 6 21:00:40 2003

A problem that some of my hitters are having is that when they load they seem to be turning their whole upper body in as they stride and I can see their head being strained or turning in slightly causing vision problems.I have had them hit with no shirts on and it appears that they never get actually loaded properly[no pinch in rear scap] though they have rotated in alot and moved their hands back. This is being counter productive not only in the load but also their vision.Has anyone seen this or have thoughts

rql, I see it quite a lot. My thoughts on (over rotation-over load) would be to get the youngsters to have their shoulders square and then as they start their stride, to just turn in slightly with their shoulders. Show them pics of the good big leaguers and then show them pics of themselves and you should not have much trouble changing them.
