atn: jack regarding ferroli

Posted by: bart () on Sat Sep 20 07:05:37 2003

jack, i've been out of town...upon return i viewed the latest posts...this one really caught my eye......

"Steve Ferroli, in his book “Hit Your Potential,” promotes starting the swing from the “flattened hand” position. He, like most coaches, simply do not understand the absolute necessity of the bat attaining a good rate of angular displacement as it reaches the lag position. Ferroli actually believed Ted Williams would have generated as much bat speed starting from that position."

i am glad there is finally one person out there besides me who is exposing ferroli....several years ago in my previous life as "grc" i made similar comments....

i know that williams endorsed ferroli's book, but i honestly think that in his old age williams didn't fully understand what was going on, and i said so, here and at setpro....

the very idea of someone who never even played the game and someone who looks SO unprofessional in his poses saying that williams would have hit even better had he started out the swing in a flat hand position.....well, nothing short of rediculous....
