Thanks Jack.

I've seen dramatic results after working w/ a kid for just a single day. But it wasn't because he'd gotten the hang of rotational mechanics (heck, I wouldn't even TRY such an overhaul w/o a longer-term commitment). Rather, a simple case of removing lunging was a big improvement.

I'm not saying it can't be done. I would just think that slotting the elbow, getting on the plane of the pitch, staying inside the ball, hips leading the hands - as well as THT, BHT, etc. - would not be things most 9-yr olds would catch onto, esp. in one day. Maybe I'm completely FOS tho?

So, my point is... is Matt really seeing all of these components in his son's swing (and verified through video) or has the study and practice of rotational mechanics simply helped correct a different ("easier") issue (i.e. lunging).

I'll stop now, as I really don't mean any ill-intent towards Matt or his son or teammates. I guess I'm just extremely skeptical by nature, and from what I've seen of most 8-12 yr olds' swings, I just find it hard to believe.

No offense Mark.

Regards,
Sandman
