Thanks again, Andy. I can tell you're quickly becoming a valuable contributor on this board. I showed my son your message and he thought it was great that he was getting advice from a pro.

I took him for a private tonight at a local Frozen Ropes. College baseball players work there. I had him hit in the cage for 15 minutes before the private and sure enough every ball went to the right. He picked up this problem in the past month or so, and now the opposing team knows to move everyone toward 1st when he bats.

Anyway, the instructor said he has a good swing but, of course, it needs work. What I could tell from the lesson was that he is dropping his shoulders and hands when he swings. He is also not locking the front leg, as he bends it and turns the toe toward the pitcher. I am sure another instructor told him to turn the front leg, but the instructor tonight said it should be locked and should not turn. He also fixed lots of little things about his swing like where he holds the bat and the distance between his feet.

With these adjustments, he hit balls center and left with the instructor pitching, so hopefully, this is the beginning of improvement. We'll keep up his lessons during the winter.
