Centering the Bat

Posted by: Donny Buster (donnybstr@aol.com) on Thu Nov 6 04:21:13 2003

A question came up about what ths means. As the shoulders load the bat barrel moves around and eventually points to the third base box( or in that vicinity). As it goes to launch position the sweet spot of the bat will align with the players spine near the time of toe touch. The 4" sweet spot will align with the 4" spine thus centered. Some bats will be more over the helmet momentarily; some will be flatter or behind the player but looking from infront of the batter they are both centered. To swing around a stationary axis , you must get on the other side of the axis and that is what centering is IMO. Jack, is this close?
