Your absolute right, RQL. Most batters at this age are afraid of the pitchers, because most pitchers at this age have absolutely no control and hit batters constantly......but, we were talking about aggression at the plate, so I didn't think that needed to be mentioned.

Anyway, what bothered me about your post is that I got the impression from what you wrote that you were encouraging your son to "knock the pitcher on his butt", from the age of 4, and it seemed you were proud that he finally did this -- may be my misinterpretion of your words. It the wording that was used that I find objectionable, and the fact that a young boy may be injured using this mentality.

Like I said you can teach a young boy aggression at the plate without having him aim and potentially harm a young player. Kids get hit and hurt all the time at this age because of slow reflexes and lack of skill, and I would just hate the think that a young boy was purposedly aiming at them without concern for their safety.

Leave the macho stuff for the older boys.
