Re: Re: New Hitter for Review

He has a very nice swing. He starts his hands a little low but he gets them into the proper hitting position by the time he strides. The only thing I noticed from the clip is his lead arm extended completely and it looked like he pulled the pitch. If it was an outside pitch you would probably want to take that the other way especially in bp. If he wants to play pro ball he won't get away with that. If it was an inside pitch your arm shouldnt extend completely out like that because the path to the ball is too long and you will get burnt inside when a guy throws a good fastball. Lots of broken bats that way. Thats the only stuff I noticed, looks like a good hitter.

Maybe I can make a comment and get some info. It seems he has a negative stride and returns to the same place with his foot. He doesn't straighten ( lock out the front leg at bat launch like a Griffey or Larry Walker) Maybe it is pitch location. When Bonds drops his hands , he gets them back farther and flatter at toe touch. Looking at his arms , I would say that he is more of an upper body hitter than he realizes. I agree with Tom. I don't think he got much momentum (torque)from his legs
