Toti,

Paul Nyman many moons ago observed that players would compress their bodies in the manner you describe and then uncompress them as they were swinging. Likened it to getting out of a chair. If you have tried it and it is working it I would stick with it.

i didnt know that such technique existed. i was just trying to immitate what i saw on tv. but it is more pronounced the lean, in some hitters. when you do the frame by frame, it is almost as if they are sqatting or something, i dont know how to describe it. the only problem i see here is that i am not a power guy and all the guys that do this are power oriented. i am a contact hitter that tries to be rotational and hit the ball harder. i am trying to drive the ball or hit hard ground balls that find their way through the gaps. i am a table setter.

i dont know if this sit and drive approach is sound for me. what do you think nick?

toti.
