Top half vs. bottom half

Ted Williams defined( measured) the center of a baseball as 5/8 of an inch. Hold a ball against a bat and look at the interface. To hit 1/4" ( 2/8) below center of a circle that is 5/8. Wow! You almost need a ruler to find it....let me get my reading glasses

My personal fear and reluctance to use some of this terminology with youth ball is

1. Do topspin thoughts cause a kid to roll the wrist or circle the middle/away pitch on the ground to SS/3B?

2. Does hit the bottom cause a downward swing plane and early rear elbow extension

I know it does not mean that to you guys but does it carry that risk for beginners? Do we want to create this whole new contact objective amidst the challenges of getting off a good swing?

Everybody stay calm...it is just a thought.
