Re: Re: rotational mechanics applied to fastpitch softball

Andy,

A fastpitch player hitting with rotational mechanics would not upper cut the rise ball. Instead, the swing would be more level to the ground as the hitter tried to catch the ball as it went up through the zone or out of the zone...better yet, just take the danged thing with less than 2 strikes! :-)

All other pitches are going down to one extent of another due to gravity. The rotational swing attempts to match swing path to pitch path. Much better than constantly swinging down with the linear swing.

Rotational is spreading in fastpitch as more people catch on to it's advantages in hitting the ball harder and matching the swing path to pitch path. I still want some slappers in my line up (if I can get or develop them)and bunting is a big part of our game, but otherwise, don't give me linear or hybrid, but rotational.
