Re: Re: Re: Coach C's Swing

Coach C, I have been following the thread as it unravels, and I decided to go back and check your swing to see if I could get a better understanding of some of the things you are talking about.
> > > In your swing, I see no appreciable hip cock or load with your bottom half. I then see a stride of about 10"-11". After toe touch I see your head moving another 4"-5" forward before stopping and going back. I see your bathead centered over your spine half way through your stride and then see the bathead straight up at footplant. Your hands at footplant are much too far from your body to create much power along with the straight up bat.......all that is left is a push with your hands and arms from a less than powerful position. You shoulders are a little too level in the swing, not giving you a chance to swing into the path of the ball........If you want to use your hands as your primary force, I would have them closer to your body and have the hands cocked so that you are closer to having the bathead centered over your spine at footplant. I feel this would be a much more powerful approach than what you have now. Try punching someone from the position your right hand is in at footplant. I am not trying to be tough on you, I just read what you say about your swing and then when I look at it, things look a little different.

I would gladly supply you with the mechanics I describe, if I could get Nick to help me somehow. I have no problem with portraying my swing, which is something I've yet to see you do or anyone else for that matter with the mechanics he professes. You are not being tough on me, because you are correct in those swings. In all three of the swings from the left and right side, the hips are cocking incorrectly, however it served me well in college and kept me above all of my peers in high school.

Not pounding on you Coach, just replying to your comments about how you swing the bat. I check how you swing the bat and you get testy. I am much too old to swing the bat anymore, but my son's swing is on Nick's site, and was put up there for all to discuss. Your swing that is on Nick's site does not do what you say it does. You say that you played at UNLV. What is your name, as if you played for them, I scouted you and I keep all my reports. Maybe I have one on you.

I'm not testy..really! Unfortunately, my voice inflection can't be heard in words. I have no problem with the critique. After going to Nick's site I realized he took a couple off. So I thought you saw all three. Believe me the other two were much different than the one posted currently....but none the less, the hip cock was incorrect. As for my name, well let's just say I've never posted my E-mail, my real name, etc. However, let's cut to the chase......if credability is an issue, then none of us have any. You didn't play in the big leagues, your Son hasn't, my Son hasn't, Jack hasn't, who has.........still waiting for that ringing endorsment. I did in fact play at UNLV, but that's as far as I'll go with it, because it's irrelevant and I don't know you. Let me say this.....I am very good friends with someone you signed, if you are who you say you are.

Sorry Doug.....just don't know you or anyone else here well enough.

As for the stride, do you believe it's required for the swing to happen? Yes or no would be good?

Where can I view your Son's swing now....is there a link?
