Jack's main analysis of Doug's son's swing was
regarding less effective THT as compared to Bonds for
example.

While Jack has mentioned looking for this in the front
and side and overhead view,a lot can also be seen in
the view from behind. This view can show the back arm
action sequence well as the bat "hitches"/cocks/
uncocks.

Comparing theBonds01 clip side by side to the "pull"
view of Doug's son from behind can shows the
difference well.

Nick or Doug, can you make this clip available for
comparison ?

Bonds exhibits the ?universal sequence of back arm
internal rotation(hitch)
-then scap loading to cock("center") the bat,
-then a full external rotation(slotting back elbow without
disconnection/while continuing stretching/loading) of
the back arm bringing the back elbow into the
slot(which is possible because full external rotation is
possible because the back arm was well internally
rotated during the 'hitch'),while keeping the back scap
loaded.

This sequence continues connection and loading as
the top hand stays back against the shoulder the bat
cocks, then accelerates back toward the catcher, and the
hands "stay back" longer.

Doug's son internally rotates the back arm,bat goes
past horizontal, then he cocks the bat by external
rotation instead of by back scap load, then the bat/tht
stalls out as observed by Jack, load is less and top hand
comes away from back shoulder with some slide at
initiation instead of tht.You can still do a lot without
efficient THT prior to/at "initiation",but THTcan quicken/
improve things.
