Re: weight shift while batting

Posted by: () on Tue Jan 13 09:28:32 2004

I was wondering about what kinds of weight shifts the body goes through while swinging a baseball bat. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Any momentum must be converted into rotation momentum, up through the body. Weight shift can mean many things, how the hitter is swinging a bat. It's commonly looked at as shifting the weight from the backside to a balance position. For example, if I'm all coiled up, I must come forward some to uncoil (backside hitter).
