I am a die hard baseball player....I have alot of heart and determination...but when i swing off of live pitching i have plenty of bat speed but I inside out the ball to right everytime.....when i do pull the ball i hit a large number of homeruns...12 so far this winter...i just would like to know how i can use my power to drive the ball opposed to hitting weak bloopers to right...

Hi B.J

I wish I had a quick easy solution for you. But there is no quick fix for developing power and consistency to all fields. Helping players, such as yourself, understand the batting principles required to become a great hitter is the goal of this Web Site. On this site, there are more than 60 articles and 15000 posts aimed at helping hitters develop a good swing. We also provide an Instructional Video/DVD for learning how to acquire good rotational mechanics.

As I said, there is no quick fix. But I can offer a few suggestions that should help you get started in the right direction. – The reason most hitters are “hitting weak bloopers to right,” is because they are accelerating the hands and knob of the bat instead of the bat-head.. They only start gaining good acceleration of the bat-head out in front as their arms near full extension. -- The assumption that if we just accelerate the knob, the bat-head will take care of itself, has stalled hitters progress for decades.

Great hitters develop great bat speed because their swing mechanics first accelerate the bat-head in an arc back toward the catcher before they rotate and direct their energy toward the ball. B.J, there is no way you can generate good bat speed with ˝ a swing (especially to the opposite field). Or in other words, you can’t just think of swinging forward. The bat must be accelerated from its launch position, first back toward the catcher, then around toward the ball. --- Explaining the mechanics to accomplish this is beyond this one post. But the information is on the site and Instructional Video/DVD.
