Top Hand Torque

Posted by: Crazy Batspeed Researcher () on Mon Sep 11 14:17:13 2000

Jack,

Question about actively applying top hand torque.

If a hitter has a good launch position as the stride is being completed, in which they can keep the bottom hand back (near the arm pit, back foot) while getting into the power position.

Thus, leading with elbow (leading with rotation) and not the hands. Back knee and elbow turn into the power position together.

Doesn't actively applying top hand torque become sort of automatic?

Proper torso/shoulder rotation itself will turn the top hand.

Doesn't the path of the elbow and swing plane (or swing, inside/outside) create different degrees of top hand and bottom hand torque without actively trying to torque the hands?

Going from the launch position to the power position for different pitch locations (different elbow paths, different swing planes, different postures), slightly cocking the barrel tip differently while getting into the power position.

Thanks for all your great work!!!!
Some thoughts I'm pondering.

Thanks,
