A Couple Questions for Jack

Dear Jack,
I now have read through your technical publications on the baseball swing, and have actually tested your explanation of rotation around a stationary axis. As a result, there are two questions that I would like clarified: 1)opposing forces generating rotation around a stationary axis, and 2) how you disagree with "hip explosion," yet once told me in a responding post that the back leg should "turn and extend," which I might have mistaken for your advocation for hitters to "push off the back foot."

1) The primary questions is strictly relegated to observation. If "opposite forces" generates rotation, then I should have no trouble rotating as a result of apply such forces to my leg. I stood balanced with both knees bent, and then straightened the front knee, while bending the back knee into the plate as a much as I can. However, the rotation felt akward. Any comments?

2) Secondly, is turning and extending "pushing off your back foot?"

I would appreciate a response.

Cordially,
BHL
