Re: Mentality

Nick, recently I was having a horrible time at the plate. After hitting .400 in scrimmages I began the season by going 1-9 and getting benched. Today I watched all the other kids I felt I was better than hit the crap out of the ball. When I got my AB, I just told myself that you are real deal and get out there and do it. That is what a kid I know told me he was thinking his senior year when he hit over .600 (he was top 200 in the country and now is playing at one of the top 5 colleges in the country).

Well you want to know what the results were? I hit an opposite field home run on the second pitch. Remind yourself of how good you are, take a deep breath and get the job done.

I'm not very big at all, ask Jack he did my swing review, if you follow these batting principles and believe in yourself, the sky is the limit. Btw it was my first home run in my life and it came at a pretty clutch time in my varsity career.

Buy The Mental Game of Baseball by H.A. Dorfman. Best baseball book out there.
