Hi Teacherman

95% of major league hitters do not exhibit rotational transfer mechanics. They may have an angular displacement rate component to their hand-path, but the way they apply torque (shoving the top-hand forward during initiation as opposed to pulling back) is far less efficient than THT. Only a few Pro hitters have all rotational components CHP + THT + BHT in their swings. --- Below is a finding from the study

I think the most interesting finding that came from the study was that all the very top hitters exhibited a swing mechanic not found in any of the other players. --- They initiate the swing with what I termed "top hand torque" (top hand pulling back toward catcher while initiating the swing). In 1988 I identified 21 players who initiated the swing with this type of mechanic --- they dominated the stats.
