Hi RQL

You are certainly right about the need for using a lot of bottom-hand-torque to make the swing work correctly. Letting the top hand become over dominate is probably the number one fault I find while doing video reviews. It is imperative that the bottom hand exerts a strong pull (from the rotation of the lead shoulder) on the knob end of the bat as the top hand pulls back. And once the back elbow has lowered to the batter's side, it is the pull from the bottom hand that brings the bat-head around.

This action would be similar to that of rowing a boat where the top hand holds back and serves as the oarlock for the bottom hand to pull the bat-head (or oar) around.
