right elbow moving past side to stomach

Thanks for this site Jack & the info from yourself & other posters. Drew (7 yr old) has had a time swinging ahead of the ball in 35 mph machine pitch. Strike out or left field. Other coaches & dads have always been amazed at how quick & hard he swings. 180-190 ft hit in a game last week. Thru the F.A. II video I now have him waiting till the ball is on the way before he loads & swings.
Now the good part & confusing part. I filmed him this weekend. Drew is using a rotational swing. His swing developed years ago, before I heard of batspeed.com A few elements are not perfect, but he is close to it. The biggest fault is his right elbow is sliding past his side causing his right hand to twist over & the bat head to drop. Is there a drill to help this? Also, what can I do to help him wait on the ball. In the film, the shadow of his bat is 6 in in front of the plate when he hits, or misses.
Thanks again for the information.
