Re: Weight back

please excuse any duplicate/partial posts due to operator error.

Williams had a rotational swing and described it largely in lay/"feel" terms. What did Ted say about weight shift in his mechanics section ? -see p.45 SCIENCE OF HITTING.

As an intro he writes:

NOW WE GO TO THE AREA THAT BREEDS CONTROVERSY-THE MOVES OF THE HITTER.

Ain't that the truth !

Regarding weight "shift" when describing hip cock:

....with your weight evenly distributed, your hips start out level....

and later:

.......you have cocked and made your stride- but YOU HAVE NOT MOVED YOUR HEAD[ted's emphasis] more than a little bit required to keep proper balance. You haven't shifted your weight from one foot to the other, but have maintained balance, the weight evenly distributed, the hands back, the bat cocked......

Video may not necessarily look exactly as you might expect based your interpretation of his words, but the feel description is very important and I would be wary of violating much of what he says.
