Re: fastpitch swing vs MLB swing

Posted by: Coach Dan (Dan@HuffTraining.com) on Fri May 21 18:46:29 2004

I'll try to fill in some holes on this one in a week or so. I have a meeting with our schools softball coach next Tuesday to discuss our fall season strength and conditioning programs and I know that he has changed the swings of his girls to mimic MLB swings. The results speak for themselves:
Last Season .209 avg (last in conference), this season .260 (second in conference)
Last season - last in runs scored, last in hits, last in HR's, last in RBI's, last in total bases, last in slugging %...
This season - top 5 in all previously mentioned categories!
Sure, I'd like to think that my strength training programs had something to do with it, but I don't think I can take credit for all of it. The coaches adjustment to their swinging style made a dramatic change for the better.

I'll try to get some better info out of him for you guys.

Happy Swinging,

Coach Dan
