Re: HELP!!!!--I need elevation!

I'm a left-handed batter. I play in a wood bat league. In BP I hit deep drives to the outfield (center and right). In the game I play pepper with the right side. I usually hit the ball very hard, but on the ground and right at people--particularly the first baseman. I seem to do this regardless of who the pitcher is and/or where they pitch me--inside, outside, up, down. I do not understand this phenomenon, but it has defied all of my attempts to fix it for roughly four years now (so you can see why I'm frustrated)!! Any ideas?

Sounds like a case of BHL disease.

You say you're consistently hitting ground balls to the firstbaseman on all pitch locations. Sounds like a pull swing which requires pull timing on every pitch no matter its location. You are probably out front because of your conscious (or unconscious) attempts to pull. And, as the barrel is rising at the end of the swing you're topping the ball. Basically you're hitting the ball on the follow through not the power part of the swing. Unless and until you hit the ball deep in the zone and use the entire field you can expect this to continue.
