Re: Re: swing triggers

"Trigger" is often used to define the start of loading for the swing and the most common
trigger desribed is the inward turn of the front knee.

Lau Jr,for example, goes in to detail about various ways to trigger and comes to the
conclusion that there are actually 2 triggers, one upper body( a "new" trigger he has
"discovered") and one lower body (front knee). He seems to think of the trigger as what
breaks the inertia/starts the swing action/separates the beginning of the swing from the
prior more general "rhythmic preswing activity".

I think both of these observations fit into the generic/universal phases of the swing which
include 1-synchronized internal rotation of the lead leg and back arm (lead knee turns in/
bat cocks vertically somewhat) as the hip cocks (pinch at waist/elevation of front of pelvis)
followed by 2-cocking of the hands (best describes as scapload/pinching/horizontal
adduction of the back scap) as bat cocks/sweeps around toward then past pitcher.
