I would expect torque to be much mor important in hitting where as Jack has
described, the hands transmit/apply force in more of a separate/two handed push pull with an appropriate grip that prevents "wrist bind".This is different from the wrist action in golf which has the wrists snapping and rolling more together as opposed to push pull.By it's nature in the environment of unlimited reaction time.golf coil is created by a long backswing with a long end weighted club.Quite a bit of torque would then have to be applied to avoid narrowing the hingse angle at the top of the swing as the club reverses, but this is still well before the torso gets to maximium rotational speed as
uncoiling does not start until well ionto the forward swing when the hands are down at about 11 o'clock. An ever increasing torquer would need to be applied to resist narrowing of the hinge angle if this were like hitting and the way Jack describes it,but his would not work for the golf swing becasue the clubhead would swing out too much before the hands got back to 11 0'clock if torque were applied beginning at the top of the swing.

Earlier and more steady application of torque would seem to be better for two handed acceleration of the bat wiht a shorter quicker swing tailored for limited reaction time.Theoretically/hypothetically,torquing would be applied relatively later in the golf swing.
