I've seen that idea used AS A DRILL to help teach the upper torso torque (as a unit vs. the hands alone pressing back.) The bat on the shoulder at swing launch would take away the top hand making that little circle around the bottom hand as the bat flattens into the pitch plane. I think it would also lead to chopping down on the ball. I've never seen anyone do it.
