Foot Plant

Jack when should one plant the stride foot ? In the video it was mentioned weight should be 50/50 at foot plant. I am struggling with some of the kids I am working with to achieve this, most of them are to soft on the front foot,or to late on foot plant to effectively rotate and cover the strike zone.

Any tips or tricks ?
