Why doesn't this guy hit more. He has a swing like Ted Williams (follow through). Then again everyone cannot play for a losing organization.

At 19 he was an outstanding hitter, fielder and had a strong arm. As far as his technique, maybe you should look at a few films of him before saying much about his technique.

His desire promted him to change his technique a number of times in order to adjust to how the pitchers approached him. That desire also helped him achieve the milestones of the Hall of Fame that players of lessor makeup did not the heart to endure.

Hi Hitting Guru,

You prove that you worthy to dress yourself with the surname "Guru." Technique often makes up for shortcomings, which is why Yaz mastered technique, instead of whining about not being the most talented.

Think of this way: if a smaller player pulls all pitches, instead of half of those hits winding up as centerfield outs, quite a few may clear the "natural" (i.e., pull field) fence.

As for Doug, there are no "nerds" in the game, only people like Mac (now retired) and Bonds that use their minds to amass statistical perfection.

Besides, I read your profile on the Nyman site, and based on it, you should not comment on other people's credentials. At least you were honest about your credentials though.

Sinccerely,
BHL
