If you have an arm surplus store nearby (or even a Wal Mart), see if you can find a heavy canvas duffel bag. Swing by Lowes or Home Depot and pick up a few bags of playground sand. Sand in duffel. Suspend from your floor joists in your garage and PRESTO - heavy bag for hitting or punching.

Sounds good only, the ceiling joists in the garage aren't exposed, the whole thing is covered. Any ideas for how I can have the bag set on the ground?
