Re: Stance: rear elbow up or down?

Posted by: Bob () on Fri Apr 18 10:02:54 2008

I have heard conflicting info on this as well. For the girls that I coach (13U and 10U), I tell them all to start with the rear elbow up and the front elbow down. Keep the rear elbow in as you bring it down, turning your hips into the ball as you swing. at contact the rear elbow is down, (arm making an "L" coming down from the shoulder and forward from the elbow)and the front elbow is up.

> I'm getting conflicting info on where a batter's rear elbow should be while in a stance waiting for the pitch. For a right handed batter, should the right elbow be pointing rearward/out?... or closer to the body/pointing down?
