Hi Jameson

Welcome to the site. – It requires about 3 torque horsepower applied to the bat to hit a ball 400 feet. Most of this energy is supplied from the rotation of the body around a stationary axis. Much of our discussion about the swing is centered on what constitutes good lower-body (and torso) mechanics that generate maximum body rotation.

Therefore, rotation around a stationary axis supplies the energy for the swing. When we discuss “Transfer Mechanics, ” we are referring to the most efficient upper-body mechanics CHP, THT and BHT (Circular-Hand-Path, Top-Hand-Torque, and Bottom-Hand-Torque) a batter uses to transfer the energy from the rotating body into maximum bat speed in a consistent swing plane.
