Re: Linear and Rotational Mechanics

Lately I have heard some coaches talking about combining Linear and Rotational Mechanics and saying that it was better than strictly rotational. I would like to know what is a combination of the two and how can it be better than strictly rotational. From what I've read and what I learned in my biomechanics classes, strictly rotational is the way to go. Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

Brett,

There are both rotational and linear components to the optimum swing. Don't be confused, the linear characteristics defined at this site are not the linear characteristics that good hitters try to accomplish.
