HI Jack,
I understand what you're saying, Reggie was reluctant to what the hitting device achieved .Reggie didn't agree with the device until he started to approach his swing ,he didn't think that a power hitter could swing through and achieve results.Reggie did give advice to try to improve the swing plane angle.The improvement has satisfied his wants and needs.I agree with you on rotating around a stationary axis.I used to instruct at the doyle baseball school in florida,the doyles focused on this approach in the early 90's.I became a better hitter from this approach.I have taught this since seeing the results first hand.I look forward to talking with you.ERIK LASEKE
