What method did you use to measure his speed? My year 9 year old who is one of the best hitters for his age in our league ( just turned in Aug) hit around 54 mph hitting from a tee. It was mearured from behind the plate.

I am useing the device that Jack sells on this web page. He is hitting into heavy bag (old sea bag filled with pine bark mulch)
with his big barrel 29" 21 1/2 oz bat 10 swings avg 58mph.
with small barrel 30: 18 1/2 oz bat 10 swings avg 63mph.
