Hi Steve

I find two main causes for what you described. One results from the lead-elbow being down at the batter’s side instead of up in the swing plane as the swing is initiated. The back of the lead-hand tends to roll to face the pitcher during rotation when the elbow drops (or starts below the swing plane) prior to contact. – Make sure her lead-elbow is up in the swing plane as she initiates rotation.

The second cause is what I refer to as “wrist droop.” It is induced from the batter’s grip. The post from the Archives below covers this topic.
